I’m back. I spent the last four days down at Disney in Florida on a writing assignment and had a blast, ahem, I mean it was productive and really difficult to suffer through. OK, not really, but it was productive and I did get to have a good time – hence this.
So where am I going next? The Chatterbox Show. This Wednesday, February 18, at 10 a.m. EST, I will be chatting it up with Christie from My Life…A Work in Progress on her weekly internet talk show, The Chatterbox. If you’ve never tuned in this Wednesday would be a great time to check her – and Wifey - out.

Book Fair on the Square
Friday’s confession…
It’s difficult to be your own publicist. In my previous life – before kids – I was an entertainment publicist and contributed to the success of several superstars including Usher, OutKast and Toni Braxton. I was very happy putting other people in the spotlight and flying below the radar. Now that it’s time to push my own project I have to get used to stepping into the spotlight and speak up about myself a little bit more than usual.
So with that said, if you live in the Atlanta area I will be signing books at the Book Fair on the Square in downtown Marietta tomorrow, October 4, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Come out and say hello… I would love to sign a book for you!

Oh, and I’m pleased to say I will be interviewing publicists next week.

Six Sexy Do’s & Don’ts
It’s Hump Day at Wifey’s House, the one day a week I dish about sex. In honor of the official release of my new book, Help! I’m a Newlywed…What Do I Do Now? Wife-Saving Advice Every New Bride Must Know to Survive the First Year of Marriage, here’s six do’s and don’ts from the book to help keep your sex life… sexy:
Do take the time to create the sex life you want. You have your whole life to build your sex life. That’s why it’s called a sex life.
Don’t do anything that you’re not comfortable with. Married or not – period.
Do what makes you feel sexy. Wear pretty panties, shave your legs, and shower yourself with fragrant body wash. Take the time to do the things that make you feel sexy.
Do have a nooner. Meet at home for lunch… and skip the lunch!
Do keep your sex life interesting. There’s nothing worse than boring sex…except more boring sex.
Do experiment with sex toys and games. There’s a wide assortment of fun and safe toys and games available to enhance your sex life. Spice it up and have some fun.

To purchase a copy of Help! I’m a Newlywed for yourself or as a gift for a new bride visit AskWifey.com or Amazon.com.

The Newlywed Life
As if I don’t have enough on my plate, I’ve decided to pile one more thing on … my new blog, The Newlywed Life.
Although there are days when I feel extremely over-extended – ahem, I’m sure most of you can relate – I absolutely love my writing career. Everything from blogging to magazine writing to promoting my new book, Help! I’m a Newlywed…What Do I Do Now? Wife-Saving Advice Every New Bride Must Know to Survive the First Year of Marriage, is just so rewarding.
I’ve especially found a real love for blogging which is why I’ve decided to add one more. The Newlywed Life was created to help new brides and wives navigate through the kinks and changes of the first year of marriage. It goes hand and hand with my book and hopefully will provide newlyweds with a little help, guidance, or at least let them know that they are not alone.
So, if you are a newlywed, or know a newlywed please check out The Newlywed Life and help spread the word. Veteran wives please know that you’re invited, too. Please feel free to leave comments and suggestions. You never know, your advice and input just might make a difference in someone’s life.
And finally, Wifey’s House is still standing strong. It maybe a bit chaotic, but it’s not going anywhere. Always remember, there’s nothing wrong with not knowing what to do in marriage, but there is something wrong with not finding out.

Baseball, Books & Ballet
It was a busy weekend at Wifey’s House. First, on Saturday morning, Miles’ had closing ceremonies at his baseball park. He went home with two trophies – one for participating and one because his team took third place in the T-Ball division. Yay! That also ended my Team Mom responsibilities – whoo hoo... ahem... I mean, it’s been a wonderful season and I’m so grateful to have had this opportunity.

Miles and me – celebrating a winning season!
Next, my sister hosted a little soiree for me on Saturday afternoon to celebrate the launch of my new book, Help! I’m a Newlywed…What Do I Do Now? Wife-Saving Advice Every New Bride Must Know to Survive the First Year of Marriage. It was fun to share my joy with some of my closest friends and family; and to sign and sell a few books, too!

Me at my book soiree, signing away.
And, last but not least, little ballerina girl had her dance recital on Sunday afternoon. What can I say, but she was absolutely priceless. I’m not sure that any of the eight girls in her class made one move on point or at the same time, but they were just as perfect as they could be – and loving every minute of it!
Did you see me mama?! Did you see me on the big stage?!
Oh, I saw my little diva in the making. And, couldn’t be prouder…

Little ballerina girl, showing off her trophy, too!

Husband, Books and Margaritas
He’s so thoughtful. As much as he doesn’t want to admit it —“I’m not thoughtful, I don’t know what you’re talking about” — he really is. I’m talking about Husband, of course. Saturday night he surprised me by taking me out for dinner and drinks to celebrate some milestones with my book. He arranged for a sitter, invited my sister and her boyfriend, and picked this great little Mexican restaurant with the best raspberry margaritas I’ve ever had. I had no idea that any of this was happening until about 30 minutes before we were headed out.
Yeah, I think I’ll keep him.
What milestones were we celebrating? Glad you asked. The release date for my book, “Help! I’m a Newlywed…What Do I Do Now? Wife-Saving Advice Every New Bride Must Know to Survive the First Year of Marriage,” has been appropriately set for September 20, 2008 — Wife Appreciation Day. I also received a limited amount of special advance copies from the printer. In addition to using them for press and promotional purposes, I will have some available for sale through my website later this month.
Although it’s been a labor of love, a lot of hard work has gone into this book and it’s so rewarding to see it coming to fruition. It’s also wonderful how supportive and “thoughtful” Husband has through the entire process. Lord knows I’ve taken us through some stressful moments — we won’t go there — but Husband’s always helped to keep me on track. I appreciate his love, his encouragement, his belief in me, and his ability to find the best tequila in town. Here’s to many more thoughtful celebrations.
Warm Smiles,
Wifey

Proofs Positive
I hate that I am posting so late today, but I’m thrilled at the reason why. I just finished shipping the approved proofs for my book back to the printer! Proofs are like the final draft of what the book will look like before they print them all.

My approved book cover.
Today has been a busy, productive day; and it’s not about to slow down now. I just wanted to share my excitement that I am in the final stages of having my book printed, in my hand and ready to share with the rest of the world.
Big Smiles,
Wifey
